There are four universities in Imo State where one belongs to the Federal Government, two belong to the State Government and the last is privately owned. The Federal Government-owned university is the Federal University of Technology, Owerri [FUTO] and the location is almost on the outskirts of the capital city.
This can be a bit trickish for people looking for the address, especially when you don’t base in Imo State.
Owerri as a town is very centralized and a lot of places lead to other places. You can go to Orji from IMSU Junction through three ways depending on your choice. This article is for people looking to get the direction of FUTO from anywhere in Owerri.
Address and Phone Number of FUTO, Owerri
The Federal University of Technology, Owerri is one of the most popular campuses in the state.
It is located in Ihiagwa, Owerri, Imo State.
To get to the school from Orji, you have to take a car going to Control. From there you enter another taxi headed to Obinze and stop at FUTO Junction.
Boarding a bike to the school will cost anything less than ₦1,000 and the school is fairly big so you have to tell the Okada rider exactly where you are headed.
Don’t make the mistake of stopping at the gate or you will have to board another bike to anywhere you are headed to in the school.
The school’s email address is [email protected]. I wasn’t able to get a phone number from the official website.
Conclusion
Finding your way to the campus is not difficult and you can ask anybody at any of the bus stops for directions.
Owerri is also a safe place and there are minimum viral cases of kidnap or robbery on the main roads but you also have to be careful. Ensure that you are headed to Control if you are coming from the main town and check for the FUTO signboard at the junction.
We wish you good luck and hope you enjoy the state!
