The milky doughnut trend has been on for some time and we know for sure it will be with us for a while. The origin of the milky donut trend is something I can’t exactly explain as I’ve not seen a movie or movie that could have possibly triggered it.
However, social media users have been talking about it and there have been a lot of memes online to back it up.
As with every other thing that is being talked about, this will last also and wise entrepreneurs will tap into the trend and grow their businesses.
The demand is growing and the doughnuts if well prepared are very tasty and something customers will always come back for.
Milky Doughnut Price in Nigeria
The price of the milky doughnut depends on your location and the vendor you are buying from.
Also, there are different qualities of the product and the costs of production come into play in this.
A lot of bakers in Abuja and Lagos sell the milky doughnut in boxes at ₦5,000 for three pieces. Again these prices are not fixed per location and you can always negotiate.
Where To Buy The Milky Doughnut
The trend is still new and I haven’t seen it in a supermarket yet. There are however a good number of vendors on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and even Jiji.ng that offer them.
This is an edible item and I don’t know your location so I won’t be able to recommend vendors. Transportation of the items across Nigeria could be tough and I will suggest you patronise someone in your locality.

Milky Doughnut Recipe:-
The steps to make the milky doughnuts are as follows;
-
Activate the yeast
To start your baking, you have to activate your yeast. Mix the warm milk and a teaspoon of sugar in a small bottle then sprinkle the yeast over the mixture. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
-
Prepare the dough
Combine the flour, remaining sugar and salt in a large mixing bottle. Create a hole in the centre and add the activated yeast mixture, eggs and melted butter. Mix it until the dough forms.
-
Knead the dough
To knead the dough you have to transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes. If the surface is not floured, the mixture might stick to it.
Knead until it becomes elastic and smooth, place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
-
Shape your doughnuts
When the dough is risen, punch it down to release the air bubbles then roll out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inches thickness.
If you have a doughnut cutter, you can use it to cut the doughnuts out and make their centres. Alternatively, you can use two differently-sized round cookie cutters and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cover the doughnuts and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
-
Frying
Heat your vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). If you do not have that, you can also head in a heavy-bottomed pot and carefully add the doughnuts a few at a time.
Fry for 1-2 minutes until golden brown then bring them out and put in a sieve to drain excess oil.
-
Make the Milky Glaze
Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract and powdered milk in a small bowl until smooth. Dip each of the fried doughnuts into the glaze to coat them completely and place them on a wire rack to allow any excess glaze to drip off.
-
Wrap to deliver
The milky doughnut is done and ready to be delivered. You can refrigerate but remember they are best consumed fresh.
You can always make on demand to ensure your customers get access to the best quality snacks they crave.
Conclusion
Like every other business, the milky doughnut has to be promoted to get sales. You can post on your WhatsApp, Facebook and every other app to let people know you are on the trend.
There are also no fixed recipes and you can tweak your own to make your products stand out and sell more.
