The Nike Art Gallery is one of the most popular art galleries in Nigeria. It is located in Lekki, Lagos State, and is arguably the largest art gallery in West Africa. The art gallery has branches in parts of Nigeria like Abuja, Kogi & Osun and we will be talking about it today. It was officially established in the year 2009.
Nigerian Yoruba and adire textile designer, Chief Nike Davies-Okundaye owns the art gallery. It boasts a collection of over 8,000 diverse artworks from various Nigerian artists.
Nike Art Gallery: Introduction
The Nike Art Centre is one of the wonders of West Africa. It is housed in a five-storey building and houses over 8,000 artworks from different artists like Chief Josephine Oboh Macleod.
It also has branches in Abuja, Oshogbo and Ogidi. You will need to dedicate a full day to cover what the beauty on earth has to offer. The gallery is open 7 days a week and often holds workshops, art exhibitions and cultural days.

Entry Fee
The Nike Art Gallery is open 7 days a week. On the entry fee, it is free for individuals but there is a fee for groups. As an individual, you are only expected to pay when you want to purchase something.
Remember that cameras are not allowed in the art gallery and you are not permitted to take photos of the artwork directly.
The Nike Tours
People who are feeling creative or want to expand on their knowledge can take an art course with Nike. You can also go on one of her week-long retreats outside of Lagos in Osun State, Kogi State and Abuja.
These tours offer overnight accommodation at her guesthouses and you will partake in creating traditional African crafts such as adire, indigo, batik beadwork, carving, or painting.
